Foundation Fest 2020
Hey HKF fam,
We’ve got some good news and some bad news for you.
Let’s start with the bad news first so we can end this email with a kick!
Due to rising Covid cases in California, we simply don’t feel it’s responsible for us to host the golf tournament this August 29. We could go on and on about the reasons why but you get it, we’re all in this together.
However, we still have our 2020 goal of raising $25k in scholarship funds, and without the golf tournament we won’t come anywhere near it. The golf tournament is our biggest fundraiser at around $15,000 of revenue.

Great, No Golf. What Now?
So, with our future scholarship recipients in mind, we are deciding to pivot this year and host a 1 hour virtual music festival with the legendary Santa Cruz Rock Band, The Coffis Brothers. |

So, what's the ask?
We will launch a Go Fund Me page during the concert and we’re hoping that you can join in to support us and the incredible band we’ve been able to book.
Just think of it this way, for the same funds you were planning on contributing to the golf tournament, or the luncheon, can be redirected to this new experience.
Also, 20% of all donations will go directly back into the band’s pockets, because we all know that bands survive on live music and we’re surrounded by incredible musicians who aren’t making ends meet right now.

Look on the bright side, you won’t have to get up at six in the morning to play golf in the East Bay, you can kick back, grab a beer, and support the same nonprofit that focuses on funding talented students building futures for themselves.
Please help us meet our goal by contributing:

More about the Coffs Brothers
This is pure roots rock, focused on melody, harmony, rhythm and mood. There are echoes of The Byrds, Tom Petty and The Jayhawks, and from years of touring, they have honed their sound into shimmering, high-energy rock and roll. |
“The Coffis Brothers & the Mountain Men have developed a sound that has an easy rock vibe that’s actually hip.”
